Our Little Farm and Hooves Boots & Horsemanship
Our Little Farm and Hooves Boots & Horsemanship join forces to organize a unique holiday and horse experience: It's all about horses. During this week, we combine trail riding and other outdoor activities in the spectacular Swedish nature with theoretical and practical lessons on herd behavior, body language, the connection between horse and human, groundwork, obstacle training and more.
In June there is a day trip with an overnight stay in the woods in the program.
An experience you will never forget!
In September we replace this activity with a spectacular day ride (due to weather).
Day 1 - Sunday, June 7th
Day 2 - Monday, June 8th
Theory herd behavior followed by observing the herd. In the afternoon, we go on a trail ride and in the evening, we go on a moose safari.
Day 3 - Tuesday, June 9th
Today we split the group into two groups for morning and afternoon; Depending on the group follow so one activity in the morning and the other in the afternoon or vice versa. Today theory about loosening up the program, and each participant will receive lesson in the loose. You learn the direction and pace affect a stray horse. We also make a nice ride outside and the evening to spend freely the whole group. If you want you can all sit around the campfire! Theory herd behavior followed by observing the herd. In the afternoon, we go on a trail ride and in the evening, we go on a moose safari.
Day 4 - Wednesday, June 10th
Today we’ll work in two groups again. Today’s program includes theory about calming signals in horses. Our practical lesson includes groundwork. You’ll learn to read the horse’s body language better and also see the subtle signals. We’ll also make a chuck wagon ride through the woods and in the evening, we’ll make a sunset trail ride with the whole group. Watch the sunset from horseback in the beautiful Swedish countryside.
Day 5 - Thursday, June 11th
We maintain working in two groups and we’ll make another wonderful trail ride today. The other part of the program today is the connection between horse and human. The emphasis will be on our own intention and body language. After some theory, we’ll put this knowledge to practice with a further exploration of influencing the speed and direction of a horse in the roundpen. The evening can be spend freely by the whole group. If you like, you can sit around the campfire!
Day 6 - Friday, June 12th
Today, we combine everything we’ve learned in an obstacle and desensitizing training. After brief theory of how horses learn, we split up into three groups and set to work. You’re free to watch the groups. After lunch, we get ready to leave on horseback to our overnight spot in the woods. Here we will cook outside and we spend the evening around the campfire before spending the night in tents in the woods.
Program-September: The morning program is the same as the one in June. In the afternoon, we visit a beautiful waterfall with the whole group. After you’ll have to chance to do some lassoing on the farm. The evening can be spend freely by the whole group. If you like, you can sit around the campfire!
Day 7 - Saturday, June 13
After breakfast in the forest, we make an adventurous and very nice ride back to the farm. We’ll arrive at some point during the day. After returning to the farm, there will be enough time to relax in the hottub, and do some lassoing. In the evening we’ll have a delicious bbq meal.
